The Amal Movement issued a statement calling on the concerned officials to return and retract the decision to expel the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to spare the country from entering into a political and national crisis. The movement's statement stated the following: It would have been more appropriate for the Lebanese official officials to declare a state of diplomatic emergency at the global level to confront what the Israeli Minister of War announced yesterday, boasting about destroying all the existing bridges along the course of the Litani River and declaring his entity’s intentions to occupy an area of 10% of Lebanon’s area and making its borders up to the area south of the Litani as a buffer zone. The statement added: However, in a move that is outside the national norm and of suspicious timing in its time and place, these officials chose to raid maliciously, targeting a diplomatic bridge by giving the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran until Sunday to leave, and they did not bother to condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and unlawfully expelling a third of its population from their homes. The movement's statement continued: Regarding this reckless and irresponsible step by those entrusted with preserving sovereignty, this step was praised by senior Israeli officials who called for more reckless steps to be taken. The statement added: The movement, at this critical national moment that requires everyone, especially officials, to work to consolidate bridges of national unity and solidarity in the face of Israeli aggression, calls for an immediate reversal of this step to spare the country from entering into a political crisis that we are very careful not to fall into. But at the same time, the movement affirms that it will not hesitate to pass it under any circumstances, as reversing a mistake is a national virtue. The movement renewed its position rejecting any form of direct negotiation with the Israeli enemy, stressing that the Mechanisms Committee remains the practical and executive framework to stop the Israeli aggression and return to implementing the full terms of the ceasefire that was completed in November 2024, and to which Israel did not adhere to any of its provisions. The movement concluded its statement by thanking all the Lebanese, especially the people of the areas hosting the displaced in Beirut, the Mountains, and the North, for their awareness, vigilance, and constant endeavor to eliminate strife and work to strengthen the bonds of national unity, which were and will remain the cornerstone of preserving Lebanon as a final homeland for all its people.
